This three-part project involved construction of a new 900-seat church, conversion of the former worship space to a social hall, and renovation of the former social hall to offices for the St. Edward's parish. The new church features two center roof beams to define the center aisle and axis to the altar, and a fan-shaped seating plan and large skylight to enhance the congregants’ focus on the action of the mass. DCA also designed the solid granite altar, and massive baptismal font and well as the newels, tabernacle and ambo. The new church is clad in a simple New England style brick to match this existing building’s pale painted brick.
